My new tires (Wrangler Duratrac)
'99 T4R
Stock suspension
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac LT265/75/R16
So far so good! I'll try to keep tabs here on tire wear and performance in dry/mud/wet/snow/ice conditions. I don't do any serious offroading (yet) so I think these will do just fine for now. And they look pretty sweet!

I got a set for my Wife's Jeep (275/70R18) and we love them! Only had them on for ~100mi, but i think they're going to work out nicely.
Gonna get a set for my Super Duty in a month or so (295/65R18)

So far i can comment on dry traction and noise/stability on the highways.
I will also add that these are C load tires, 6 ply.
Dry traction is excellent.
There is a noticeable 'hum' from the large tread blocks but not annoying at all, i cant hear the hum with the radio on normal volumes.
Stability on highways is slightly affected. Solid tires and tread but the extra profile on the tire (75 vice 70) makes the tire taller, therefore there is a bit more sway on turns. It also might have to do with the weaker C load rating it has. I believe they also have D and E load tires.
So far I'm very happy with them. I'm just waiting for the snow haha.

I balanced the tires myself, and for a large almost MT tire they balanced pretty well.
For 2 of the tires I only had to add one 10-20g weight on the inner and outer rim.
The 2 other tires I had to add a 55-60g weight on the outer rim along with a 15g on the inner.

I did not personally balance the ones on my wife's Jeep but they took a lot less weight than most of the M/T's I've run.
Ours are E (10-ply) rated. I don't feel a 'sway' in corners, but I've been on M/T's for a while. It's a factor of the large tread blocks that M/T's have, I believe. These feel pretty stable.

Rain/wet weather traction is exceptional. The large treads seem to channel water well and its hard to even hydroplane.
Fuel mileage is definately affected. Not by much but noticeable drop in km's per litre.
Still waiting for snow.

Niiiice!!!! That's exactly the reason I bought these tires!
Update for myself: the old lady's got about 2k on her set on her JK and I've got close to that on my SD. Very pleased so far. No more wandering than I've gotten with any other MT and they are SILENT compared to my Dick Cepek's I just pulled off the SD.
No chance to check any traction other than pavement, though.

Definately worth the money. I also have about 4K on them right now, the tread still looks new, i should get a micrometer to measure tread depth. Going to rotate them when i reach 8K on them.

Update please?
I'm considering Duratrac's, too, but would like to know how long they last compared to BFG A/T's
CamTom12, and kim_2_da_chee,
May I ask for update on your Duratracs? How many miles haveyou put on them and are they still OK with those miles on them?
Guys with A/T's,
How many miles have you put on yours before needing replacements?
TIA,
RAD

You realize this thread is over 2 years old...?
Can't speak for the Duratracs but I have BFG Muds KM2s and have just under 60k miles on them and they aren't down to half tread yet... So long as you keep them rotated they won't feather or be loud. I know the KM2s are as quiet or more so than the Duratracs.

Of course, I do. It wouldn't make sense to ask someone about his Duratrac's if he's only had them for a couple of months, right? Unless Duratracs are expected to last only 1 year or so.
And better to continue a thread than start a new one, right?
Thanks, but don't wanna go all the way to M/T's. Buying for a daily driver, that will be taken off-road (not crawling) on weekends.

I drive 95% on the highway. Occasional trail rides with the kids, sloppy job sites, and I don't have rocks to crawl on. I travel for work and my truck gets me there. I only did the MT because I believe in "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it". I also believe the KM2s are a true All Terrain. They just have a manufacturers designation as a Mud Terrain.
