INTERCO tires

ok..so im starting to rethink my ideas of tires...im torn between the SS LTB 33x13.50 or the SS LTB 34x10.50....i have 15x8.5in rims...(outlaw II knockoffs)....i tread through nothing but mud...i have no lift...but i will be getting at least a 3in lift...and even bigger when i have the $$$ to do so..but just for running around town...and muddin with my friends..which would be better...not going to regear just yet...but i know i will in the future..the 34's are cheaper than the 33's...so i just dont know which one to go with...thanks for any info/help..my truck rarely sees trips over 10 or 15 miles...thats what we got the '86 4x4 yota for....my goals for this truck are...4-5in marlin crawler extreme lift...35x16 SS boggers hy-steer either a VW diesel or a cummins 4BT..new brakes all around...and lockers front and rear...but that is WAYYYY WAYYYY down the line..just wanting a cheaper 4in lift..and some 33's or bigger..along with the gears...and lockers...and winch...and armor...damn the list goes on and on...

sounds like you have your work cut out for you and I would go with the 34x10.50 cuz the are cheaper and they would look better with all the lift and everything else

LTB's Suck, Use Boggers, or TSL's And get 33x10.5x15's, No lift, they'll fit, gearing will be fine, My brother had an '83 he had a 3" BL, 5" Suspension lift on, and ran 33x13.5x15 (Don't remember tire brand) with no gearing and it looked fine and wasn't really a dog like some people say..

Totally disagree with the post above - LTB's are AWESOME in the mud. I had the 34x9.50 TSL and wasn't terribly impressed. One of the OHTTORA guys had LTB's and they were incredible.

I would go with the 34's - only one way to get clearance under the diffs on your budget, and that's a larger diameter tire!

the LTBs are an often underestimated tire...the sizing just SUCKS balls for them

i have 33X13.5 LTB on my 89 runner

id say go with the 10.5 width for 2 reasons;
13.5" tire is better suited for a 10" wide wheel
and i dont think you could trim enough body to allow for steering, i had to do some pretty serious trimming and i have a 3" Body Lift

and as far as the tire debate, LTB's rock, and they arent that Different to what are referred to as TSL's , that s bc the LTB IS a TSL, TSL means nothing mroe than "Triple Step Lug" which is the basic pattern for the side lugs on the tires

again, did i mention that LTBs rock?

"What is the Super Swamper LTB? The Super Swamper LTBs are in the same basic Three Stage Lug design as the famous Super Swamper TSL’s but a little more aggressive."

Rethink your choices and GO BIG. LTB's and Boggers are excellent off road, but short-lived on the street.

Had a couple buddies runnin the 34x10.5 LTBs on their jeeps all w/open diffs and they kicked ass in the mud. I was convinced that i HAD TO HAVE EM! But as stated above the sizing SUCKS BALLS.

...damn it, is it too much to ask for a 35x12.5 LTB???

CAMO31, if your yota is limited to actual wheeling and bootin around town 34x10.50s wont slow you down all that much. I ran 35x12.50s with the stock 4.10s and could still get around town without being an annoying, traffic-impairing slug! Just plan on re-doin your clutch sooner than expected heheh. Im pretty much in the same boat as you right now bud...trying to decide on tires and what a particular size will do to this and how it will affect that and etc. etc. I just said it and went with the bias 34x10.50 LTBs cuz they are cheap and now i have a tow rig so the yota wont see pavement anyways.

I run 33x12.50s with stock gears and 3.0 and i'm turning the tires ok, still zippy in town until 4th gear but no freeways in my state so I'm never going faster than 60 any how!

However I should note with 2" in front and 3.5" in back I did rub on the pinch weld in front and after some hammering I can turn on the street again, need a bigger hammer, still rubbing when flexed... Ordering the 2" BL soon...
