Sorry I don't know the name of the wheels so I will have to post a picture.
Anyway I HATE these wheels that are on my 4runner. I was thinking instead of shelling out $250 for some black steelies, I might just spray these bad boys. Hoping someone has done something similar

I think pink would be the way to go if you are going to paint those.

Man, those are both terrible rims. I quite like the stock aluminums. I'm possibly in the minority, though.

No joke. That's why I painted mine "metallic aluminum" so they look somewhat stockish.

I deff agree. If only they made more stock rims in a 15/16x8 for us guys with 12.5" wide tires.

Forgive me for being "last season". I like black wheels

by they way, Scuba I checked out your build thread. Props on the truck and wheeling it like a champ. I probably wouldn't have the guts to tear it up

Yeah, that has always been a limitation with the stock rims.

Paint em! I'm in a similar situation in that I have the stock SR5 alloys and really don't like them. Hell I'd almost trade someone for 4 of the steel spare wheels that come stock on the first get runners just to get steel wheels..... of course I'd paint them black....... I just don't like wheeling with alloy wheels due to a fear of cracking one on a rock, at least with steel wheels you can beat them back into shape enough to hold the bead.

X2!! Man Scuba that doesn't even look like the same truck. It went from a rather cute DD to a freaking TANK with scars and armour enough to scare small children (and Jeeps). Man you must have balls as big as your feet.

g-d it....i have the same wheels.......they were cool when i bought them IN 1991!!!!.....I don't care for them much anymore either.

here's what I would do.......take and scuff the crap outta them, paint them up...repeat as necessary. like has been said.....ya can't make them worse.

BY THE WAY ........mine are American Racing Wheels "Type 8"....as I do believe the op's are too.

EDIT...pic added

Actually with those rims if you'd painted the centre part (14 hole) a met Black/darkish green? and left the rims silver you'd have had a stock appearing rim as used on euro/JDM SR5/SSR-X 4runners (2gen).

I've seen the stock steelies painted black and imo the look like something off the barn floor... but that's my opinion add $1.75 and buy yourself a large coffee lol
