I would get the Revo's if you're worried about wet weather traction, because the MT's will be worse in the rain. The Revo's are awesome in the rain!

P.S. I run mine at 15 psi on the trails, and 40 psi on the road with no trouble at all!

 

I've had 2 sets of the BFG AT's and I didn't notice them being that bad in the rain so much as just being generally bad once they got about 1/2 worn. They wear like iron too so you get to drive on mediocre tires for a long time...

 

which ones do you get? the 265/70-16 or 265/70-17 ?

the tirerack guide only comes up with the 70-16...

i'd be replacing the stock 265's on a '01 sr5...

 

Their guide will only show you stock or OEM optional tire sizes.
Do the "brouse by brand" and you will see the full list of tires and sizes.
When you select the tire you want to look at, there will be a couple options, select the "specs" option and it will give you the list of available tire sizes and the specs of each size.

Man... I've been trying to decide between the BFG's and the Revos for the the last couple of weeks. I just found a place that quoted me $576 for 265/75-16 mounted. I guess Revos it is!

 

Yup, I got the 265/70/17, I bought 17" wheels a couple years ago and reusing them with these tires.

Unless you currently have 17" wheels they won't fit.
There is a difference in height (by about 1") between the 265/70/16 and 265/70/17, the taller one being the 265/70/17 because the rin size is 1" taller to begin with.
If you currently have 16" wheels, you'll need to match that. There is a better selection in sizes for those wheels anyway

I just got back from having the Revo's installed.

Out the door on 265 75 16 C Load rating I paid $544 (tax included). That was with some tire warranty thing at $13 a tire that I just decided to leave because I have bad luck. I probably won't use it, but it helps me sleep.

Went with the white out, but I think, looking at it now, I should have just gone white in again. I loved the white out on my white 95 runner, but it just doesn't look right on this one I don't think.

Oh well, an easy change when I get them rotated next.

First impression, and this is only off 15 miles of driving. The truck is a little more sluggish perhaps, but not enough to really make a huge difference. I think a lot of it has to do more with the weight of the Revo's compared to the balding original tires that were 4 ply at best rather than the additional inch.

Additionally, I didn't realize just how bad those old tires were till these were on. I can really feel that truck gripping the road now, it's almost scary how poorly it must have been gripping before.

For those concerned with rub. I have none fully turned left or right on my 2000 SR5 on level ground.

I'm thinking about turning my white letters in. I had also thought about hitting the white area with some flat black paint, but I'm not sure if it will stick to rubber. I want black raised letters, but I hate to see white letters up under the truck. Anyway, I'm hoping to have pics up by this weekend.

Call firestone for the stock size. It was about the same as what I paid last night also. I just decided to go for the extra inch.

 

Who here with a 2nd gen actually runs Revos?
I need to get some new tires soon and want to go bigger then my stock 31/10.5/15. I currently run the 32 BFGs. I've searched and couldn't really find any 2nd gens running the revos it seems. What size what I need to go to that compare to the 32's? Anything bigger then the 31 that they offer, seems to be for 16 inch rims. Any help? Or am I just confusing myself... Maybe just get another pair of BFG AT's Just lookin for other options so any suggestions would be helpful

I had the same problem in late Sept when I got mine. Instead of waiting, I got a set of 275/75/16s which were instock everywhere at that time. If I remember my specs, they are only about an inch taller overall and should not give you any clearance problems.

 

Damn these are hard to find now. Costco sells them for 130 a piece out the door, but they are on backorder. They don't think they will have any till Feb. The firestone dealer wants way to much ( Between 7 and 800 depending on location)but again not in stock. Finally I find a local dealer that has them but they are 150 a piece with mount and balance plus tax. My old tires are really in need of replacement. I think I am just going to bite the bullet.

Where are you guys finding them for less than 600?

Are the 265/75/16 cheeper than 265/70/16?

They had a buy 3 get one free thing, but you have to actually ask about it. When I was just getting pricing prior to hearing about it, they were quoting me full price.

I didn't have any problems getting mine in 265/75-16. I went to a non-chain tire shop that I've been going to for the past 10+ years. They pull their stock from some distribution warehouse down the road.

I was quoted $576 for the Revos and $630 for the KOs (naturally went with the Revos). I was worried that the Revos weren't going to look aggressive enough. Definately not the case... they do look tough.

 

I took the price off tirerack with shipping included, and Sears matched their price without any haggle. I thought it was fair!
