Icelandics put very wide tires and deflate them a lot to float over the snow. Also they don't use to put agressive tires like M/T's, the most they use, the Dick Cepek's.

they are real winter chains made specifically for off roaring and work VERY well. We just had 3.5 feet of snow in 22 hours this past season. I was able
to get out with my FJ60 on 35s with these chains. Zero issues.
