7" rim how wide of tire?

Ive done a lot of research and concluded that a 12.5 will work but must be aired down. I thought the rims i was getting were 8's but they werent. Anyways if i put 12.5's on them and air down is my gas mileage going to plummet? Is this just not a good idea?
I know 33x10.5/s will fit and probably 32x11.5's. Please help.
Thanks

I herd you could put I 10.5's on a 6 inch rim but . So I am thinking maybe 11.5's max.
But If were you I would do a 10.5's to keep the tires from rubbing the frame.

I really don't think the 12.5's will fit on a 7 inch rim. And if it did the tire will wear really fast in the middle.
Maybe you could call a tire place and ask them what they think.
Good luck.

4" is usually the norm (8 wides with 12.5s, 6 wides with 10.5s)

But I've run 13.5 Claws on stock 6 wides no problem...but that's just me

You should be fine, they WILL balloon a bit, might wear the center tread quicker, but should still be ok to mount them on a 7 wide and run them w/o problems on the street

If you mess around with the air pressure, I'm sure you can find the sweet spot for even wear.

Sounds like the tire I need/want. I want a tire that is a bit better then a A/t but I don't want a M/t (they wear to fast for me). Maybe when I need new tires I will look into the wrangler duratracs.
Good luck. And if the tires don't it right you can always sell them for what you bought them for.

I run 35x12.50's on stock 15x7's. It's not ideal - but it was the cheapest solution for my needs.
