35/10.50 BFG's...
Yes, that's right, I said BFG 35/10.50...
If you'll look at my sig line you'll see I have a link to the "Contact us" page of BFG...
Well I've had this idea a long time now and have sent off a few suggestions, but just recently put the link in my sig. So about a week ago I get a phone call.
Sorry I don't remember the very nice lady's name or rank in the company, but she called me to let me know she was going to hand off the idea to their marketing department....
So here it is guy's. A kind of put-up-or-shut-up moment where we can tip this thing over in our favor and really make a go at it.
I strongly advise that if this interests you, to click on my link or see the "Contact us" page over at BFG on-line and add your name, opinion and voice to the list.
Then it won't be just wishing for a tall skinny anymore. It'll actually be available.
It's closer to 34" tall, not a wanna-be like the BIAS PLY 33.6" Super Swamper LTB, it's RADIAL, and should cut down on some rubbing for low lift applications... So come on guys, help us all out and let's send in our interests in this tire size.
Thank you.

sent mine in. i was just about to sacrifice my daily comfort and ride for a set of 34/10.50 LTB's just to have great off road tire tread and size for no lift. if I could get my hands on a set of 35/10.50 BFG A/T's i would be a happy man..

Here's what I sent in.
OP, Have you posted this on TTORA ?
To whom it may concern in the Marketing and Sales department of BF Goodrich.
I along with many of my fellow Toyota 4Wheelers have longed for a tall yet skinny and aggressive mud terrain type tire.
Currently the market is flooded with 35/12.5's and 315/75's. It is great that we have such a broad selection in those sizes but the lighter weight pickup and suv crowd has always hoped for a 35/10.5/R15 tire. My fellow 4wheelers and friends prefer large tires with a minimal amount of suspension lift. Thus, if a 35/10.5/R15 (or equivalent 16" rim tire) were available, a total void would be filled in the light truck and SUV market. Currently the only tire I know of that fits that size category is a Q78R16 Bias ply super swamper. Those are great tires but along with many other that yearn for the 35/10.5, I daily drive my truck on the highway and to and from the trails we 4Wheel at. If this size was offered in a more highway friendly radial tire I think BFG would have a hit on their hands. Also, a lot of tires are advertised as "35" but true sizes are about 34.6-34.8. In my opinion that is almost cheating the customer. A true 35" tire would be amazing.
Thanks for you're time and I look forward to seeing a 35/10.5 BFG on the market.
Sincerely, Stephen Frisbie

negatory, I'm not even signed on there... Gopherit if you are...
Here and Mud are the only places I'm even signed up to.
And yeah, guys, you don't have to send in a speech. Just a few words or even "hey, I would buy a 35/10.50 if you sold one" should do...
The way tires are made today, with my knowledge, it should be easy enough for BFG to do...
I'm pretty sure gone are the days of one mold per tire. To my knowledge they are in sections today. So all BFG has to do is put a 10.50 tread section on the 35" sidewall mold(s) they already have, and viola!

To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to see BFG fill the gap in the market for a tall skinny tire in the size 35x10.5R15 or the r16 alternative. The Toyota crowd really prefers a tall skinny tire as these tires fit without much lift and they provide equal or better traction with less wear on steering components and are more conducive to decent gas mileage than a 35x12.5r15 tire.
Many Toyota drivers daily drive their trucks or drive them to the trailhead then wheel their trucks. Currently, our only option for a tall skinny tire is a tire made by Interco which does not lend itself well to on-road usage. The BFG KM2 in a size 35x10.5R15 would give us the height we want without the unwanted width.
Sincerely,
Matt

oh god... Am I gonna have to sign up on that site? lol...
"I'm sure they'll make them.
For a cost they'll probably want like $300 a tire or something stupid."
Not unless you buy the tire that would be close to that range anyway... The AT's and 1st generation MT are not even in that price range. Consumer consumption demand dictated the $300 to $500 A PIECE KM2's and that other competition tire... Don't think everyone wants to buy that stupid junk...
"only one that makes an actual list 35 10.5 15/16 is the ssr"
And it has a sidewall strength all of the tensile strength of tissue paper... It's real knobby, and it may be a radial, but it still has almost NO tread life...
great comparison there wish I'da though of that ONE tire...
"You'll have better luck with someone like Pitbull or Interco IMHO.
The market isn't there for a huge company like BFG to tool up for this. "
What's to tool up? They'll just use the already existing 35" sidewall mold with a new 10.50 wide, contact patch mold...
The the retool is not the retool you think it would be... Times have changed a little since the 40's you know... Molds are in sections now a days, not a complete one piece mold for every tire size you must be thinking. Just send in a message will ya?

As I've mentioned before, since the tire mold is in sections, they can use any of the sidewall sections they would have for any other 35" tall tire including it's metric counterparts.
15" 16" 17" 18" 20"... And whatever else is popular with young folks with credit these days
The ONLY thing they have to make fresh is the contact patch mold.

I see one possible drawback with this size and that's how well will the bead hold up with a skinny tall tire and the extra leverage the tread would have to pull the bead off the wheel.

HA! A day later! lol... ^^^
Hey guys, tell you another thing that would make this tire KILLER!
And that's airing down...
With the 33/10.50's now, when you air down (it depends) but you're more or less running on a pumped up 31's ground clearance... :-/
So with a 35 aired down, that would be cool...
