2004 2WD tacoma xtcab

Ok, I've searched and searched but don't find an answer. I am looking to see what size tire (silly question, I'm sure) that I can get on my Toy without doing a lift or mods to it. It calls for 205x75x15 and I would like to go bigger like to 235x75x15. I know they will fit on the rear with room to spare and will the bigger tire fit on the stock rims ok. But what about the front. Sorry I really hate asking this but I would like to know.

You'd see a 4 mph difference with that

The max for a 2.4 litre is 215/75/15

The 2.4 is too small for bigger tires, too much tire or what. I'm seeing huge tires on toys and I had 31x10.50 on my V6 1990 4x4. I gotta have bigger tires on this thing, it will get stuck on wet grass.

Well the problem is it's a 2wd so it's lower to the ground out of the factory then the 4wd

All I need to know is how big of a tire will fit my stock rims and not kill my engine performance. Prefer 225X75X15 but is that too big for my little 2.4 4 cyl. Has anyone put bigger tires on their tacoma that has a 2wd and 4 cyl.
