16" Rims on an '03 Tacoma?

I am looking at the American Racing Mojave Teflon coated black rims for my 2003 Tacoma. It has a stock 17" wheel, and I would like to put 16" wheels on it.
Can anyone tell me if the 16x8 Mojaves will rub on the caliper or not?

Thanks!

Huh. Would you look at that? Turns out I've been measuring my wheels wrong. They are in fact 16" rims. Thank you, Elton.
Now of course, my question becomes Will 15x8 rims rub on the caliper? I want smaller rims!

Thanks

yea if it did come with 16's sounds like it has bigger brakes if you could find a 15'' wheel and try it now i wont guarantee that it will fit

there are a few 15" rims that will fit. I also wanted smaller rims and I ended up getting some that were specifically designed for the 01-04 tacoma from wheelersoffroad.com.

Now, I wish that I would have kept my 16" rims because 16" rims allow for bigger brakes like the tundra brakes, bigger brakes will come in handy for bigger tires. I only have 33x1050x15 BFG KM mud terrains and after I put them on I noticed my brakes were alot weaker. So when my 33s wear out I will sell my 15" rims and get the tundra brakes for the front.

just something to think about. The grass isn't always greener type thing. Also, I found a few lists of other 15" rims that will also fit just by browsing on TTORA.com.

Awesome feedback. Thanks, Juicebox! That's something I hadn't thought about. I'll check out TTORA and see what I can find.

So when you say replace the brakes with the Tundra brakes, do you mean just the front brakes? Discs and calipers? Or is there more involved?

Hey Juicebox,
Do you have any rubbing at all with your 33x10.5 tires? That's the size I want to get and put on my (I'm now nearly decided) 16" rims. Did you hvae to do any trimming at all to make them fit? I plan to get a 2" lift to help with the clearance.

Thanks
