Roof top tents
I like the crankup roof top tent Wayne has on his FJ Cruiser, and here is one I saw in an ad yesternight in the summer issue of Overland Journal.
I had to PM Chris to get the name of the company, as I do not have my magazine here at work.
What intrigued me was the roof top tent was on an FJ Cruiser with the stock rack.
Here is the company

That is still way less than the one Wayne has, his goes for $2.2K.
I would have trouble at my old age (dang, I am getting old) hefting his type on/off the rack, plus you have to get Yakima crossbars for his type.

I have several tents now ranging from a one/two person backpacking tent, to a huge hotel type that can sleep 10.
I hate setting up tents though, one reason I like the rooftop ones they are easy to setup.
Also have thought about this unit.

Not much room in it though.

It is similar to the one that Strap22 and trdparts4u have.
Phil, I miss your old rig.

Jacque's setup.

I would not mind doing a trailer setup like you are building, but it would get vandalized where I am currently at.

I really like that trailer set-up. If I ever got one I think I would want/have to build it myself.

Yea...I like the trailer set up too. I don't know about the roof, I would probably bust my a$$ in the middle of the night.

Very nice.
After I move I will more than likely get one one of those.
I was not a fan of the roof top tents at first, but I think they would be great for a spur of the moment trip to camp out in the mountains.
If I get one later, I may even go up for a night in the winter up where I go wheeling.

Five seasons Car Top Tent
This Car Top Tent perfect for winter camping and high places. İt has central heating system under mattress. I was sleep in comfortably and warmly. No risk about carbon monocside, because heater work outside the tent.
