The time frame rule is super lame. I have a great sunset shot, but not from the right time.

Yeah I kinda agree.... But if we didn't have that rule all the photo-jokey's out there would kick our butts. What if we made the time frame to the past year??

to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the timeframe deal either, but it does level the playing field - everyone has the same week to take the picture, and hopefully, it inspires some creativity into the interpretation of the theme - these don't necessarily have to be pictures of the sun setting on the western horizon ...

Oh - and if you have a great pic, post it up anyways!

I'll bump with some unfortunately out of date range pix:

(not bad considering I was using a beer bottle as a tripod)

You are lucky that digital cameras were $1200 when I lived on the coast. There were some amazing sunsets there. There's some decent ones here, also. I'll see if I can get one tomorrow, but there aren't any clouds, so the sky might not be so pretty, but the scenery around it might.

NICE!!!!

Yes, regular cameras worked, but I don't have a very good scanner, so quality will be poor at best.

The sunsets on the coast do kick butt, i wish i knew how to take nice pictures. Best i got is a disposable in my glovebox the picture quality from them after scannage is awful. Very nice pics too by the way - X-awdriver

If you have a really great pic on film, take it to a real camera shop (like Ritz, Wolf, etc) - most of them can scan the negative at VERY high resolution, resulting in a very good digital file.
