Got this idea from Expo.
We all see the trail/trip report pictures from members who have captured memories of their off road excursions and camping trips, but this thread is to see your campsites.
Plus the post is not for just one members pics, but for all to post their pictures in.

This is the White River campground at the NE entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park I camped at in August.
One of my favorite places in the state of Washington.

Good way to get ideas from others too to see what gear they have.

 

 

Those lodge tents are cool (actually warm ) with the stoves in them.
I read about them in the Cabela's catalogs I get.

 

Yea, they are warm all right.

Buuuut, if you and I show up at camp at the same time and start setting up, you are gonna be done and sipping something cold before me by probably an hour!

 

He he, yeah, the tent part of my setup is a breeze as seen by the video in my sig.

I still have to pull everything out of the rig though and setup.
It was crammed, and I have bought three more items since the trip.

talk about 100% wilderness. Survivor Man/Bear Grylls status.

took the wood and branches that were around us, we had some rope, and found some rope laying around. made a triangular shelter, fully enclosed, fits 4 people, laying on the dirt/grass. this was on the shore of a lake.


bout a year and a half ago, completely destroyed now. all thats left is a couple rocks we used for strength at the bottom... this lake gets like 18 feet of snow during the winter... haha and yes we spent the night in there.

Tomorrow if I get time after I wash my rig in the morning, I will attempt to setup the new Cabela's shower/crapper tent, and post pics to my camping gear review thread.
Will not need that floor mat for the new enclosure, as it has a removable floor.
I was going to set it up earlier in my living room, but it is quite larger than the PETT one that has the toilet in it.
I will set it up outside.

Just thought I would share some really old pics.
This is my youngest son helping unload the truck.
He will be 22 years old the end of this month.
That is an old beater Sears tent trailer my X and I had.
We were already X'd when I took this photo back around '88 or so.



Youngest son again, this time with a brand new '89 Flagstaff tent trailer and my '90 Toyota.
Picture was probably taken '90 or '91.



Oldest son on the left.
He will be 26 come November.
Now on his third tour of Iraq.
Picture is of Mt. Rainier taken from the top restaurant up at Crystal Mt. ski resort.

The best campground I have ever been too.
Manning provincial park in BC, Canada has four campgrounds within it, and this one was called Lightning Lakes.

Provincial parks have the cleanest restrooms, and free firewood!
The walkway trail next to us that led to the restrooms had the firewood bin.
We had about 1/4 cord or more chopped up our first night there.
One of these days I need to get back there again.

Going up to the White River campground though where I went in August brought back memories of when the kids and I would camp there.
We camped there an awful lot in the early 90s.



I think this was Kanasket Palmer state park, not far from where I live.



Most of these pics where taken when we camped about every other weekend back then.
My last camping trip was in the summer of '97 until I got back into it again this year for the first time since then.

He he he, I can grow my hair out like that, and it will curl up like that too.
I did that earlier in the year, but got it all cut off.

I feel better with buzz cuts.
I may let it grow out again though this winter, it should look like the pic of me in the black tanktop with us in front of Mt. Rainier.

 

Hey Corey, when your son gets back from the sandbox you should get together the three of you and head back up there again... just for the heck of it...

You know I was just ribbing you a little bit. My hair is the same as yours, as it is very curly. I wear mine short too, otherwise elmer's glue won't keep it in check.

 

He he, hair spray.
My youngest son has hair like mine.
It all curls up.
When he stopped by the other day with my older son, he had really short hair.
Must have cut it for school coming up.

 

I don't do much car camping, if ever. But here's a shot of my camp at my spot I hike out to each May long weekend.

 

Here's an interesting camp site.
This was last week in the Trinity alps 65 ft up in a tree. I backpacked my treeclimbing gear and my bow deep in to the Trinity alps, about 7 miles in. I found a perfect tree with thick branches and set up shop. The first night I had a Spotted Owl land in the branch above me and 2 bears walked on the ridge in back of me.
I spent three nights in the tree. Going to sleep with the tree gently moving and the wind blowing through the branch is a very peaceful way to fall asleep.
I saw a quite a few deer one bald eagle a flying squirll and a bobcat.
