I have a 96' extended cab T100 with a 3.4L V6 and an A340 tranny, It has over 260k miles on it and is lacking power and fuel economy. I am interested in doing a diesel swap, it doesn't have to be a toyota diesel, but just something that isn't overly expensive. At my disposal I have an 85' 22re 4x4 transmission that is in good working order if I need to go the manual route. Im not sure what engines are good for this, or what will work out without being very expensive. I would also consider doing a 2JZ turbo swap but that seems to not work and keep 4wd. Advice and suggestions welcome.
