Somethin' 'bout a 1994 Truck 1UZ Swap
#21
If you look at my thread I can help.
I have listed the headers I am going to use and the U joint I used for the steering shaft. I am also using a remote oil filter system. If you need any help let me know. I have been studying this for 2 years.

Mounts are in the works right now, then oil pan soon after. Ordered a Rancho stabilizer kit that will work. I think it's for a full size Blazer. I'm going to run some stock Tundra/Sequoia manifolds. Also found a radiator that should work with minimal cutting and be able to keep the hood latch.

Found a radiator that fits with little modifications and saves the upper support and latch from being removed
Inlet and outlet pipes will be modified for lack of space
4Runner front end is now on and I also scored some manual locking hubs at a local wreaking yard

Flywheel machined 5/16 off the center and a little less on the outside. Now getting balanced and resurfaced.
Tundra manifolds before getting modified
The spacer that came with the KS Racing bellhousing. I'm assuming there is still room for the clutch disc to still meet up with the input shaft splines since I have not seen otherwise.

Engine mounts and steering stabilizer mount are done. Steering bushing/rag joint hits the 2uz exhaust manifold so it will have to be modified. Probably Woodward steering u-joint that they make for a Toyota steering box.

Getting close! Oil pan and pickup are getting modified tomorrow. Possibly steering shaft and get the exhaust started.
Tight fit
Woodward Steering joint and weld-on spline
Lower flywheel access hole cover for a 2UZ works with the 1UZ and KSRacing bellhousing

I'm having issues with the clutch disengaging, not sure if I missed something simple? I'm using the KS Racing bell housing, 3VZE clutch, fork, slave cylinder, and flywheel with 5/16 removed on the engine side and a 5VZFE throw out bearing. From what I've read others use anything from a few washers behind the fork pivot to around 1/2" worth of washers. I tried 3 washers measuring .36" at first and could not even bolt up the slave cylinder with the motor/clutch installed. Next I tried just 1 washer with no luck and a very light pedal. Installed .43" worth of washers tonight with the slave cylinder already bolted on and the clutch still will not disengage. Since the truck isn't quite ready to run yet my test is to put it into a gear, press the clutch and see if the truck can be pushed. I have checked for leaks and played with the clutch pedal adjustment without success. Also with the clutch pedal released the slave cylinder looks all the way compressed and the fork probably 1/8" or less from touching the bell housing.

Long overdue update finally. I got the clutch setup figured out and I probably have 1,500+ miles on the swap so far. No issues other than mpg's are low and did not pass emissions. I was getting about 10 mpg until I wired up the rear O2 sensors (they are not in the exhaust, just wired up and sitting in the passenger kick panel) now I'm getting about 14 and cel is off now. The SC400 computers need to see a complete heater circuit for the rear O2 sensors. You cannot piggypack the sensor signal and heater from the front O2 sensors like the early LS400 ecu's I have wired up before.
I should still be getting closer to 20 mpg I believe even with factory 4.56 gears and 31" tires. Front O2's and spark plugs might be original so I'll start there and maybe pull all the injectors and get them cleaned. For now I've been really enjoying the power, cheap gas prices, and only opening the hood to show it off.

Its great to hear you got your mpg halfway sorted. I have been running with the cel on for rear o2 on mine not thinking it had anything to do with my poor mileage ~12.8 city. That is definitely worth a look into. It sounds really good in the video. Similar to mine the power comes on strong up high (3500+) but not down low almost like turbo lag except it has great torque at 750 rpm?
either way good job and that engine bay looks amazing where did you get that shorty intake tube?
