Rory, I am very interested in this swap kit you're talking about. Please keep me updated and place me on the future customers list. Always wanted to put the 2jz in my 95 rust free runner!

What a great swap, how are your plans comming for putting a kit together. Did you have enoughf interest to make it worth doing. Count me in as one more person who would be very interested in a kit.

I am currently in the middle of buying everything I need for the twin turbo swap. Is there a kit assembled yet?

Did you guys read the entire thread? The shop that did this closed down.

Without having massive amounts of people doing a swap, it will be impossible to create a kit that will:
A) be bolt in.
B) be cheap enough for the those of us who drive 20 year old Toyotas.
C) be profitable for the company making them.

Bottom line is that an engine swap, any swap will cost more than most are actually willing to pay. If you have the skills and knowledge to do it yourself, you will find a kit to be a waste of money.

Wow, great ideas. I am so used to my slow Toyota's. I could only imagine them with a 2JZ.

So don't know if I missed it but would this kit only be for the aristo version of the 2jz? I ask this as the aristo 2jz is a front sump and not a rear sump as in the supra. I have a 89 Toyota pickup with at 2jz from a aristo in it and being front sump no one makes motor mounts for the front sump 2jz, so custom mounts were made for my truck. Feel free to check out my build in the Other engine swap section. And correct me but maybe in the later tacos the cross member is not in the way as it is in the 89-94 trucks and can accommodate either the front sump or rear sump with your motor mounts.

Ok, just read through this whole thread and the original poster hasn't been on here in forever and a day. There are still people interested in doing this swap, as am I. I've been researching this for the past 1-2 years because I've lacked the funding to do anything, but check out this link www.suprastore.com . On the side menu, click the link for used Supra engines. They have 7MGTEs, 1JZGTEs, and 2JZGTEs with swap kits for each with everything you need for a complete swap including ECU, wiring harness, intake and exhaust manifolds, fuel rail... everything!!! I want to do this swap so bad, I can taste it. I want to be plastered to my seat and feel my heart pounding as I glide through each gear... and tomorrow is my birthday... so, Who's buying me a 2JZ??? J/K, but really, who's buying one for me?

2JZ with 6 speed transmission option is about $3200+$250-300 for shipping and the other engines are less accordingly. But if you just order the engine with the free automatic transmission, it's about $2850+ s/h. But don't take my word for it, check out the link and find out the price for yourself. I'm only giving you a rough idea, could be more, could be less.

Forgive me... the 6 speed getrag manual transmission is $4700 extra... costs more than the dang engine, lol.

what bell-housing?

I have found many 2jz engines and wiring with computer. but want to hook it to my rf150 5 speed in my 88 v6 4runner. basically i need to know what bell housing i need. I saw the 1jz bell housing will work for the rf154, does that work for all r tranys? any thing else i can fabricate.

I have no clue there... I'm looking at a 2JZ swap for the future and haven't even gotten to that part yet, then again, I'm running a 2wd setup, so I figure whatever tranny come with it will tide me over till I'm ready to drop a manual in there. I'm merely dreaming about what fun I could have. I Gotta keep checking pick n pull till the right one comes along. The Supra wasn't the only car to have them... the Lexus IS 300, GS 300, and SC 300 also sport the 2JZ.

Yeah, me too. Have mine lowered with drop blocks on the back axle and 2in torsion drop up front. Wanna rest the torsion back to where it was and take the blocks out and replace the springs with Belltech lowering springs and put their drop spindles up front and replace all the shocks with their street performance shocks. Then sway bars and steering stabilizers. My Louise is gonna handle like a sports car once I do that and get the right tires on her.
