I'm not looking for competition . I just am curious of how it sounds. I almost chose to use an automatic as they are much more comfortable to drive in the long run. I actually measured a few of them and did a lot of thinking about it but in the end I just decided they would just add too much weight to the truck compared to the manual. Hmmm I've always wondered what it would be like to cruise around an FJ... this magazine is basically a magazine about them. It's a great Toyota magazine but jeez they just who off their own FJ they are building up the whole time: http://www.4wdtoyotaowner.com/

yea didnt think you were , just messing around .

Its sounds really quite i have all 3 cats and a flowmaster installed . I am going to build a nice mandrel bent exhaust some day , like every one else is using .

I drive a stick all day and it gets annoying ,really like the auto for when i go out to play with this truck .

I just recently subscribed to that magazine and my first copy was the one on the site you linked.
and I want an older Fj like 65-72 somewhere in there.

so just thought id update a bit .

Trucks still running fine, just noticed my tranny is starting to leak at the sides of the pan (cats are to hot and close i think) a little .

I do have a cheapo tranny cooler and dont have a trans gauge setup yet ,(just ordered one) but I ran across a cooler from a 90's suburban and bought it $15 dollars at pick n pull and will use this instead and use the one i have now for the power steering cooler.

here is a pic .

Thanks man , nad good luck .

well i was installing the cooler and trans temp gauge this weekend and when i removed the bumper and grill i noticed the radiator looked funny.

Took a closer look and noticed that some of the tubes the fins are attached to have expanded. only the ones that are not covered by the fans .
the part of the radiator that is covered by the fans is still in perfect shape .
i didnt take any pics but ill get some tomorrow and post them .

I havnet had any problems with cooling yet but then again i havnet taken her out wheeling for a while , just little drives around town with no problems.

im ordering a third fan and going to install it up top and see what happens.

No fans covering this part , the center tubes are expanding causing the fins to fold in on themselves, not a good thing ... is this just a cheap aluminum radiator or what ?
hopefully another fan on top will stop it from getting worse.
