Tricking 2000 3.4 ecu
I have 2000 4runner 3.4 auto ecu that i'm wiring into a 94 5spd truck. Ive read a few was that people crossed wires or jumped wires on the ecu to tell it that it was in neutral but i don't see exactly where on this ecu.
the only 3 pins I have found that might work is
E9 pin 22 which is PWR and goes through comb meter then park neutral switch
E12 pin 17 which is TPN goes to transfercase park neutral switch
E 14 pin 7 which is the clutch start bypass on manual or p/n position switch on a/t
I guess my question is if any one has used this computer and knows how to tell it that its in neutral.

^^ This would be the one. You'll not be using any combo meter lights, since the 94 doesn't have that on the instrument panel. And the E9 is simply supplies power to the combo meter if park/neutral condition is met. Once you actually get into wiring it, this will make more sense. It's hard to know everything you actually get down to it.

ok thanks for that. I guess i'm probably wrong on this but I thought e14 7 was just for starting. I have a manual so it would be just for when the clutch is pushed in or the clutch start button pressed to allow it to start but no signal after it starts.

2000 4runner 4x4 automatic ecu
3.4 auto in 3.0 manual truck
This doesnt really go with my first question but Ive gone through what ive changed and It all looks right but still no fire to ignitor.
I have power to ignitor but not signal from ecu to igt 1 igt2 igt3
question is what would cause ecu to not send signal to this.
I'm also still confused on telling trans its in neutral.
From what ive read auto ecu needs signal all the time to tell its in neutral to run
I have E14 pin 7 wired to clutch start switch.

the NSS wires simply need to be cut and soldered together. one is power in and the other is power out when in neutral or park. IIRC they are a larger gauge that the rest of the wires in the transmission indicator harness

I made a little picture of the p1 connector that goes to park/neutral switch (nss)
In the diagram Is pin 5 and 6 the pins you are talking about. The wiring diagram im looking at only has wires for 2,3,4,7,8,9,10
Pin 4 is power in but rest just go to comb meter

I have done several swaps using an Auto ECU. You do not need to jump or solder any special wires together to trick the ECU. Just wire up everything else like you normally would and you are good to go.

so you didnt bypass the neutral switch? mine wouldnt start till i jumped it out

Thanks for the replies. I got it goin a few days ago. My problem was the ignition wire to computer wasn't hooked up. I had just over looked it. I didn't trick anything, like sam4runner said it is just hooked up like normal.

That darn wire got me too. Glad you figured it out. I guess I wasn't having any luck connecting the right body harness wires together to work with my new style auto shifter so I just wired em together. How's it run? Got an exhaust on it yet?

no exhaust yet. It ran good, real good till today and then it blew up. Dont know why it did it yet but I'm looking for another block and maybe the whole engine. You got an extra.
