After my swap I still have an idle problem and think my cable is to blame. I"m using the 3.0.

As you can see in the picture the cable is real tight and I can't figure out how to get the cable to come out any more. Any thoughts?

 

there is a different cable mounting bracket .. I don't know the exact year , but I believe it's the 96-99 ? it sits more forward then the one you have now .
I have used that bracket you have , but with some cutting and welding

Awww, thanks for jogging my memory as I do now recall seeing something like that. But, after thought, I'll just bend it it should be fine.

 

Just be careful it does not break.

You do know the nuts should be on either side of the bracket .

I used my 3.0 cable as well.

 

Thanks, yeah, upon looking at it I should have been able to figure it out. A couple of blows with a rubber mallet and it's good to go now. Why I didn't figure that out in the beginning is beyond me.

First test spin happens tomorrow then off to get the cat back welded on and 02 sensors installed, then a drive and another code check with a good scanner at a repair shop.

 

I think a lot of us split the trans/throttle bracket down the middle (dremel or sawzall) and bent the throttle bracket down.

 

RIght on.........yeah, a few blows with a hammer and it bent fine. Good idea about the dremel though.
