SR5 Gauge swap tach not working

I recently got a sr5 dash on ebay and I can get everything to work except for the tach. I ran the corresponding wire from the coil pack to the pin on the back of the cluster. Heres some of the diagrams take a look and see if anyone can point me in the right direction... I think the tach may be broken.. any volunteers to send this to plug it in and try?? Its from a 1992 sr5 toyota pickup. Going into my non SR5 1992 Pickup.

....

So this appears to be the correct way to input signal to the tach. I tried by passing the c2 connector and running it right into the black (tach) wire position 7 on the back of the blue connector ...

I thought the tach mod was only for 4 cylinder going into a 6 cylinder? Can't seem to find the official write up even with a search... can someone enlighten me?

way to be i soldered in the resistor and then i had a tach! SO i go to drive it and the speedo works great but no odometer.... bummer. Apparently the odometer motor is burned up. Well im not the kind of guy that takes no for an answer so i unsoldered the working motor from my old board and soldered it into the new board and now everything works as it should. BTW the speedo didnt work on the board with the working odometer otherwise i could have just swapped the hole thing!
