schneiders 3.4 swap

I am new to yotatech so bear with me as far as posting pictures goes and dumb questions.

Im gathering parts now and info for my 3.4 swap

I picked up a 2001 tacoma 2wd auto engine harness and computer for 400. motor spun freely 78k miles
after a compression test one cyl has no compression so ill have to sort that out.

All this will be going in my 1992 4runner that had a 3.0 and 5speed.

I have been reading all day and will continue tomorrow as well I think im good with everything except the wiring.

so heres my first question... will a 5speed ecu out of a 2001 tacoma 2wd plug and play with my harness or will I need to repin the whole harness to fit an ecu. if it will work out what about a 4wd ecu? and if anyone so happens to have a 5speed ecu that will work for me please let me know and I will be happy to buy it from you.
Ill start posting pics as soon as I get started.

If your harness and ECU is from the same vehilce you don't have do really worry about the ECU plugs, It seems that the problems start when you miss match ECU and harness. As for the auto to Manual part there are a few threads about this, the one that comes to mind I believe is by username ARdesign? Something like that. On a few engine they don't the pilot hole for your clutch I would be sure to check for that. Other then that, have fun, take your time, to plan everything out, and good luck!

alright I went to check out the motor today and help start to pull the engine from the tacoma like I said earlier I heard the engine run it had a shake to it compression is good except one cyl has 0 compression. im getting it all for 400 but the no compression scares me. I cant do a leakdown test because I dont have the gauge so what do you guys think?

should I pass on this set up or get it and deal with the no compression...

I would pass on it personally. Could be a crack in the cylinder wall and then you could have it re-sleeved at a machine shop. To me I got my engine for 900 and it has only 78K miles, everything looked good on it and it came with the ECU, Harness and almost all the accessories. Just my opinion though.
