Overdrive not working

just finished my 3.4 2wd auto swap into my 92 runner. I have been on a few small freeway trips and it seems like my RPM's are a little high. At 80 MPH its around 4k... 4.30's on about a 32" tire. power range is good but that just seems a little off to me? maybe not? anyone here running an auto with some specs? input is appreciated. thanks.

I plugged some numbers in to the grimm jeeper calculator and it seems like you have 4.88's and its in third gear. Try it yourself.

You sure you have 4.30's?

Because with 4.30's and 32" tires, in 4th gear you'll be at 2565 RPM's.
With 4.88's and 32's, in 3rd you'll be at 4099 RPM's.

So I did some more freeway driving and have came to the conclusion that it is not shifting to overdrive. For those who have done the auto swap, is there anything special that needs to be wired for the tranny to kick in to over drive? If anyone has any information that would be great. I will continue to search.

Also I would like to add I have nothing wired for the O/D off switch. I was told that if it is not wired in the OD should work. Thanks.

I would venture to guess that you at least need that OD switch grounded.

Overdrive not working

So I have double checked my wiring and everything seems okay. I have speed signal hooked up to the ECU and everything. I have a buddie who works at Toyota and we hooked it up to Techstream which is like an on board monitor. Driving through the gears it showed that the ECU never requested to shift in to overdrive. This is my first auto swap and I not positive i have everything connected right. Any input would be appreciated.
