Question about Powersteering line

I see some of you have sleeved and welded your lines together. What material did you use to sleeve the joint? Brass, Galvanized...........? Did you guys MIG weld them or solder?

I just used some steel tubing from Lowes. I had to drill out the inside of the pipe a bit for the power steering line to fit snug in there.

I then mig welded it. Tig would be better but I have no access to that. My first attempt leaked badly, which I didnt know until the motor was started and PS fluid shot everywhere. Second attempt worked fine and is still holding.

dntsdad- Thanks man. Is the steel tubing in the plumbing area? I only seen brass, galvanized and copper in the plumbing section.

Mine was in the hardware section where the gate hinges and stuff are. The have a rack of various flat bar, tubing, etc. They have steel and aluminum.

I re-used the old 3.0 one and cut the tab off of the end that goes to the 3.4. Works, no leaks as of yet.
