P0705 After Swap

I just completed a 3.4 swap, 1994 4runner original 2wd now mounted on a 1988 rn pickup chassis still 2wd. The doner was a 2003 Tacoma prerunner 2wd. I swapped motor, trans, engine harness and ecm from Tacoma. I did conversion wiring. Everything is great except for a single mil. P0705 transmission range indicator malfunction. (Prndl switch sees more than one input at one time.).

So faults cleared start in park = no faults
Start in netural = no faults
Place in any other gear = fault

Neutral has to signal to ecu, so park is the input staying on.. Tracing ewd 4wd has "park" lamp in cm, pre runner does not, so circut should be open but I measure 12 volts on pin into ecm. I've tried 3 different ecms so i don't think that's it. I tried several wiring changes.if I leave gear selector wires unhooked from ecm, it will eventually give a fault for not seeing a signal but seeing speed sensor.
Anyone else ran into this. Am I missing something small? Is there a way around. Any help appreciated..
