Need some help

Trying to figure out what wires are what on my 87 22re pickup for the two yellow connectors under the dash. I got the ewd's but trying to figure the color wires go to what. I find multiple times that the colors are used more than once in the diagrams depending on what section your in. Also when you see a black wire in the diagrams how do you know which black wire they are talking about on the yellow plug because there are two small black and one bigger black wire in the same plug. The ewd's that I have don't show the connectors that I have so I can't go by pin number. I've downloaded 86 and 88 years and they are basically the same. So far my searches haven't helped me much. Any help would be really appreciated

Can you post a picture of the plug? Toyota changes wire colors for the same part in each year in at least one or two places.
