What does this mean?
A basic run-down of using TIS, use the search feature to identify the year and model of the truck you're looking for, then enter a keyword like "engine control" and hit "Search". You'll then have a bunch of links show up in the bottom half of the browser, find the one that references the EWD and click it.
This should open a new window with a navigation tree on the left pane and a PDF viewer in the right pane. If it doesn't close any new window and try a different link. From that navigation tree on the left, navigate to the to the PDF I mentioned earlier. Once its displayed, you'll want to save yourself a copy of it by selecting the save icon, or file -> save as, or Ctrl + Shift + S.
As much as I hate using IE, TIS is another one of those websites that works best with Microsoft's Internet Explorer; FireFox is more or less useless with TIS (at least for me), Chrome works most of the time, but I did have a lot of issues with corrupt PDF files which I used Chrome's build in pdf viewer to download.

I wouldn't trust the links embedded in the pdf to work correctly, but rather start browsing through the various pages/sections until you find page 30.
It's a complete pain, but its the best way that I've run across.
This would be another scenario where you would want to download each of the pdfs and save them in a similar folder structure as to how TIS has them arranged. This way you know you have everything you'll need when your 48hour subscription expires and you can take your time digging through everything to find the few pages that you'll actually need.

You might be able to get it working with some wiring...
But yes, for example if Toyota switched the signal wire position with the 12 volt supply you're going to be really rich...
