Just a rant.......
I find these wrecked runners all day long and turn my buddies onto them. Now that I want one for a 1st gen runner I just bought, I can't find one for anything. Been looking for about 2 months.
If you see a wrecked donor in california, pm me. I'll buy it if it's a good deal.

You should know it always works like that with everything.
Don`t really need things they are all over the place.
Like jobs when you are happy and content most days I get all kinds of job offers .
Even think about moving in a lateral direction all you hear is not now things are dead we might need to lay off .
The way it seems to work.

Put the money aside !!
Give up the idea!!
You don`t want to do another swap!!
Focus on this!!
In a short time a few weeks or months someone will call you asking if your interested in buying what you wanted.
Then you also might see a advert someplace or one driving down the road.
I said I was done doing expensive projects way to many all ready.
I now have another 3.4 swap in progress Have all the parts just been to busy or motivated

Finally!
After a bunch of near misses, I am down here in Ventura and just picked up a 1997 Runner that has an elocker too.
172,000 miles. More than I'd like but new timing belt, and water pump, etc.
$1600 and I can drive it back the 250 miles to home.
Swap coming!!

If it's rideable for 250 miles, why not just keep driving it??

Just because it will drive for 250 miles doesn't mean it isn't wrecked or in rough shape. On top of that, if he has put more time and money into the other vehicle and its all around more capable, then keeping the '97 to drive doesn't make any sense.
