Hello YotaTech......newbie about to attempt this 3.4swap

Hello again YotaTech my name is Joe....this is my first post and i was wondering if it was possible to swap a 3.4 from a 02 4runner Limited 4x4 with a auto ECM into my 93 pickup 4x4 with a 3.0 and manual trans? i did some research on this forum about what bolts to what...but im worried about how would the wiring be to get this engine going in my 93. ive read that these throttle bodies are drive by wire so will that be an issue.....oh and is it possible to still use the automatic ECM from the 3.4......someone please point me into the right direction. Thanks!

Im not sure on this one. I ended up with an ecu and harness from an 02 (throttle by wire) with my swap from the wrecking yard... Took it back and made him swap them out for an earlier model to save me the hassle.

I would search an ecu or harness and call the place to see if they have the matching ecu/harness.

Good luck!

I would try to find them at a junkyard. I called a toyota dealer in my area., and they couldn't get two of the plugs. He said his US warehouse didn't have any so no dealers could get them. That i would have to try japan. I told him to get lost.

the 97 has the 2 row plugs. I know that the bigger plug from your 3.0 will work for one of them. Just thought I would pass this along. I swapped in a 97 4runner into my 90.

That ecm is a Tacoma i think. Will have erg probably along with fpu and something else. Might want to get a the runner ECM. 89661-3d310. No egr, no fpu or the other circuit I can't think of right now.

I ditched that route when doing mine and went with the runner ECM cause it was much simpler.

I know the plug numbers for that and they are available. Just bought a set. About $10 for the set.
