A few 3.4 swap questions for the pros out there.

A few questions if you all don't mind. I know, use the search, but I might not have time.

I was not going to go with a 3.4 for the 85 4runner I am building right now, so I have not spent a lot of time deeply reading about it. Just kind of reading some of your threads.

I have the option to pick up a 3.4, ECU, wiring harness, standard transmission, out of a 96 T100, 2wd.

I figure at most it might cost me about $800.

The truck is wrecked, but will start so that I can hear it run.

My biggest worry is am I going to be able to mate the 2wd standard tranny to a transfer case.

And generally what the thoughts are for using the set up from a 2wd.

Thanks for any input

My opinion is pass on it. It would be much easier to get a donor setup that is ultimately what you want. Which would be a 4WD setup I am assuming?

You could pick up the motor itself, but I would scrap the engine harness/ECM? and trans. You will spend more money trying to get this to work than you would to just spend a little more up front and get the "right" stuff.
