Is this the evap/return hose?

Been like this for a while, but since I finally need to ref. this rig.. Is this the evap/return line? What the hell how did I miss that.

Did some searching and couldn't find conclusive results.

that short hose that drops down is "vent to frame" It actually vents into the frame.

Right, sorry the shorty with the zip tie on it. It's just supposed to hang out like that then?

Yes. Thats how mine is. If you are having it inspected by a ref, I would extend it into the frame so that you can't see that its open to not raise any questions......even tho thats how it should be. Thats what I did anyways.

That is exactly what its supposed to do. Just hang down, its a vapor vent.

The hose just behind it is the evap hose. Where does that route to on your rig?

Yep, exactly, I got it slipped by a smog check the first time. This time I've struck out twice and am going for my ref. sticker because it's a clean swap anyway so might as well.

Fwiw the last smog guy said that was the evap hose and that's how he identified there was something amiss... Which confused me because I have had no evap issues.

The hose right next to it comes from the airbox.

Thanks guys! That one's a little tricky.

Thats the same way mine is. The one that goes from the Evap box to the vapor return is 3/4 up the box, sticking out in the same direction. Looks like you already have that one connected

Hey dnts, what's your exhaust/emissions setup? I still have my oem 92 setup, plus an extra o2 sensor I think so the 99 runner cpu is happy. It passed a couple years ago right after the swap, and has just passed the emissions portion that way fwiw. Failed because the guy finally realized it was a 5vzfe. Next time I'll call it a '92 Tacoma haha

Hey look what I found. Looks like there's a nice long hose running to a special place under the engine. Problem solved.

I just need to rig up an extension on there before my appt. next week. I hope the ref. is cool! Should be fine though.

I'm using everything off the 97 runner. Nothing is left smog wise from the stock 92 setup.

For exhaust, I am using a self built crossover for drivers drop.

Huh, well I hope I get by with the 92 exhaust. Using the crossover those guys build up in eugene, toyonlyswaps guys. Fingers crossed, and I do have the "failed" recent test with good emissions on it. So.. I hope the ref. is cool

I just know if I put the 99 runner gear on it it'll get stolen that very night. Rampant cat theft rolls through the area every couple years.

yay smileys
