Evap canister Necassary?

Ok I didn't get the Evap canister with my motor but I have the evap pressure sensor. Some dumbass cut the plug off that goes to the canister though.

I remember reading that the evap canister is optional on the swap. Is this so. I sure would like to eliminate it if I can since I don't have it anyway and I could use the room for something else.

What about the sensors though. What function do they serve and would I need to fool them into thinking the can is still there. Thanks.

Ok I thought about it some more and I think maybe what was meant is that the "Canister" is optional because you can hook it up to your existing one.

Is that correct?

Read my thread. I got way more involved in the EVAP situation than probably needed.

I reused the 3.0 cannister and some of the plumbing. The sensors and such are all taken from the 3.4.

I have no related codes and seemingly no operational issues... so my guess is what I did will work for others.

Evap canister...... I do believe that's that little canister looking bugger near the firewall???

If so, I've seen a lot of people replace them with a big Tomato Juice can. Then they just spray paint it black, and it doesn't look too funky.

I've never done it, and none of my vehicles have it, but I have seen quite a few with it, and they seem to work just fine.

If I'm not thinking of the right part, then don't mind me.
