Why ask them if you don't believe them.

Sounds like you asked them and they told you. This topic has been asked and answered.

Just because you do not like the answer?

Toyota Only Swaps, is very knowledgeable and they are a great resource for swap parts.

Swaps are what they do for a living. Great guys and they know what they are talking about. They have done two jobs for me and the work is top notch.

So you didn't like what ORS told you, and now you don't like what TOS is telling you.

Do the swap yourself without bugging shops that are trying to help paying customers.

I bought a 95 runner auto with a 98 3.4 motor, auto ecu, the PO did the swap and he kept the 95 a340h trans because it had just been rebuilt.
I guess this guy knows these swaps pretty well and has done quite a few of them.
It's much easier just going with the Newer and better a340f trans if you don't mind changing the cases and adapter for it..
I plan on doing a 5 speed swap in the near future.
It's all about the wiring lol.

I dont mind doing wiring myself. How did he wire it? Just repin old wires into new plugs for transmission?

Wouldnt have had to ask if this kind of info was posted on here. So far nothing in this swap is as easy as people say and im hitting road blocks all the time with this swap. I was going to be a paying customer fyi. But if i have to rewire anyways i might as well do the whole thing myself. And btw i didnt talk to ors cause they are over priced for me.

I think that's what he did I know he said the wiring for the trans was a pain because you have to make the newer ecu talk to a older trans but yea just get the wiring diagram for both years and go at it

i stand corrected the reason why you cant use the a340h trans with the 96+ 3.4 ecu is because the speed sensors use a different signal
a340h uses analog
3.4 ecu uses digital

for this very same reason my speed sensor isn't hooked up
only way around it is to use a t100 harness and Ecu
