I'm swaping a 2002 3.4 into my 85, and already have a MAF out of an older 4Runner, can I use that MAF on the newer engine?

 

if you can figure out which wires go where be easier to put in the less bulky 99 up maf

 

Wiring isn't a problem, They both have the same connector IIRC, it would just be cheaper sense I've already got the one, and it's easier to make an intake cause all I have to do is get some silicone adapters and tubing.

 

If it was me, I would get everything working with all the "right" components and then begin to switch things out for whatever your reasons are. that way if you need to troubleshoot, you dont have to guess if the issue is a mismatched sensor.

 

Very true, i'd rather use the correct one also, I'm just being a cheap ass, and would like to keep the $100 plus bucks in my pocket and use the one I've already got on hand if it will work.

 

100 dollars for a maf ? i paid like 20 for good one off ebay
