ok So I just replaced the starter on my truck. it uses the 3.0L flywheel and clutch and the starter that was on it came from the old 3.0. (installed by PO) I was hoping this would fix the issue. It was starting to click and only catch once in a while if I kept bumping the key. I assumed it was the solenoid going out, so I replaced it. Now the new starter is doing the same thing, only worse it wont start it at all. When I turn the key some times it will only click at the computer, other times it will click at the starter repeatedly like "rat-a-tat-tat" Almost like it not getting enough power, like the battery is dead. When I roll it off the voltage gauge is reading in the normal position like the alternator is charging, could it simply be my battery is that weak??? or do i have other problems? I would think its all operating right...but i dont know.

 

figured it out...new optima red top and I'm rollin'. should'a trusted my gut. HAHA
