88 motorhome 22re to 5vz

Did a 3.0 to 3.4 swap 2 years ago in my 88 4runner. Easy. Now I have a 88 Toyota motorhome I really want to swap- but it’s a 22re auto. My issues is the transmission - cross member is welded in - so does that mean in need to cut it out and weld in a 340 transmission cross member ??? My welding is basic at best so if i have to cut and refab a cross member that puts me out is the running on this swap- any insight or other threads I can be directed to is appreciated.

Probably...

The motorhome chassis were modified by the coach builders.

I feel pretty confident in saying they didn't do anything they didn't have to so the captive nuts are probably in there somewhere still since they are internally located inside the frame rails and would have been a big waste of time to remove.

That said "it's just a transmission mount", if you can get the transmisson relatively close to centered a blind guy can weld it in..

The Toyota 2WD chassis had the transmission cross-member welded in from the factory.

I am not sure where the A340 transmission mounting spot will end up, but it will probably need to be moved.

Sorry I am not much help here...
