We will start wit this heater hose first. From standing in front of the truck (with knees on the core support) this is the one on the left side.
[IMG][/IMG]

Following the hose from the firewall down (different angle then before but it basically just drops straight down from where you see it in the picture above)
[IMG][/IMG]

This is the hose on the right side, then goes into that little black thing that's got kinda a waffle pattern on the top of it
[IMG][/IMG]

It exits out the other end of the waffle pattern thing
[IMG][/IMG]

Then the hose drops down toward the ground like 6 or 8 inches, bend's out toward the passenger side and drops down into the block right below where it first exited the firewall as seen in this picture:
[IMG][/IMG]

And here is a overview of what both the hoses should go on the block once your done. the top of the picture is toward the passenger side and the bottom of the picture is toward the driver side. And the left side is heading toward the front of the motor.
[IMG][/IMG]

Hope this helps! and I had to cut a couple of connectors off of my recipients trans harness to work with my trans because the 5vz connectors sometimes are different

Two for the transfer case, and two for the reverse lights which should run up and you need to splice into your trucks body harness.
I still got my old harness so that seems pretty straight forward. Ill get on that this weekend and see how it goes. Hopefully finishing my reverse lights isn't too hard. The ORS guides pretty good, so hopefully it'll walk to me where that is.

If that's your biggest worry I think all of us who have done the swap would have wished that was our biggest worry lol. Glad to help though!

The heater hose in the first picture I see that you have a metal piece in the middle. Is that just to limit the bending of the hose? cause I just bent mine straight down lol with a hose clamp in the middle to prevent a little of the bending.

Here's my heater hoses. Those springs they sell at napa for 3 bucks a piece and prevent kinks. Worked pretty well but geeze that's a tough job. Two hoses took me like 4 hours haha. Name: D6136B2B-70B0-4B38-B926-EFB4BE943AE9-150-0000000AC3D89358_zps4964878b.jpg

Anyways after that. I pulled my A/c compressor off again cause the a/c lines wouldn't match up. I swapped the tops of them, and put it back on. They're a little different but hopefully it'll work. The gasket inside and hole placing were fairly similar After I swapped them. Name: 060634CB-B8FB-4E13-A70D-105FEA0EA373-161-0000000F3692EE74_zps96d57b69.jpg

New compressor with old a/c line top on it. Looks pretty dirty haha. I'd say that's a r134 swap lol. Name: E4F239A9-9BC0-4657-A53A-580C59A9C961-161-0000000F302772D6_zpsd4ca39fc.jpg

I'm gonna take a little break right now then start splicing some wires today and tomorrow. I'm curious about all those transmission harness wires we talked about because the ORS harness wants me to splice each of those wires I have. So I'm curious if that means just tie up and forget about my engine harness to tranny. I can't splice em all together lol. But I'm gonna write him an email and ask him about it

what are those other 2 hoses for? i dont THINK i have those on my 3.4

and regarding your tranny harness, I am reffering to the harness that is hooked to your engine harness that comes down the driver side by the exhaust down pipe....

When you sent ORS your engine harness they didn't mess with the tranny harness that is pictured right? or did they? Im just trying to figure out if what you have now are connectors or just plain wires that you have to tie your old plugs from the 3.0 trans harness, to those wires.....sorry it getting a little confusing lol

Ok. those hoses, were on my 3.0, i just never pulled them and they were connected to my 3.0 heater hoses in a way. most of them had that rust crap in them like they had coolant flowing through them before.
I'm pretty confused about my tranny wires as well. I wrote him an email last night with pictures regarding the tranny harness vs my ORS harness. I never mailed my engine harness to ORS. The built it off of p/n's.
I only have those two plugs on my tranny. Reverse light switch and 4wd indicator switch. My Vss is cable drivin so that knocks out the longest wire on my engine harness.
Off of my ORS harness. -- I have two non-directional wires for 4wd indicator switch that in his guide he says. Splice to 4wd indicator switch.
---- another two wires that are non directional that the guide says - splice to reverse light switch.
That's it. So in the email I said. I can't splice the ORS harness and the engine/tranny harness to both, so should I just tie my tranny/engine harness up and only do the ORS harness. (To sum it up). So we'll see what he says. Hopefully its that easy haha. And my buddy has a 2000 tacoma(same as my donor engine). I'm gonna take a look and see if he has those hoses in the back. As of now, I only have those two hoses plugged in on the back of my engine.

Post pics of the harness with the 4wd indicator and reverse lights. From how you described it, it's sounding like all your gonna do is utilize the connectors that originally were used when you had the 3.0 in. Which would be easy as cutting them off the 3.0s harness and soldering them onto those wires ORS provided fot you.

And for the record, the VSS is different from your mechanical speed sensor. So an electronic speed sensor is called a VSS. And a cable driven speed sensor is thus called a mechanical speed sensor sorry, I think I am to blame for the confusion.

Your heater hoses look great! And the only reason I put that brass barb in the middle of that hose was because when I was removing it from the 3.0, it wouldn't come loose off if the fittings at each end so I got pissed and cut it in the middle lol. That's the real reason hah.

Ah! Ya so on your old harness, find the connectors that formerly plugged into the reverse light switch and the 4wd indicator (that's probably the longer one of the two identical looking ones) then cut them off your old harness (leaving enough wire to strip and solder the wires that ORS labeled for you) then solder those connectors onto the wires ORS gave you and you should be good to go

So I was just doing a bunch of reading and I realized I missed something while my engine was out. So now it's going to be a pain in the ass >.<. I've been reading on the fuel line that needs to be flipped?? I can't find any pictures. Ill check through some more swap threads right now. But I'm pretty clueless as to how I get my fuel line off and where it's supposed to go. If I'm not mistaking. It's this fuel line on my passenger side feeding by my a/c lines(firewall) down towards my clutch booster? Or w/e that's called

That fuel line is the one in the second pic I posted from the top of this page. And it is on the driver side fuel rail, toward the firewall. Not too bad to get to and all your gonna do is back out the bolt just enough to rotate that line over to the passenger side. I think there are some clamps holding it down in some places. Expect fuel to come out though. And I had to get high pressure fuel hose to be able to reach from wher it went it to the main line on from where the 3.0 one went to. I'll try and get you a pic right now

Shoot lol my truck is at my in laws. Not gonna be able to get you one, sorry. But it's not hard to find. Should be in one of those "sticky" 3.4 threads. That bolt is on the end of the fuel rail though that you need to loosen.
