So im just about ready to do my swap when the evap crossed my mind. I have an 89 xtra cab manual 4x4 3.0. The engine that is going in my truck came out of a 96 Tacoma. Now will I be able to use the 3.0 evap on the 3.4 and where would I get the most useful information as far as routing goes. the service manual for the 3.0, 3.4 or both?

 

Look at Elvota's swap thread (one of the stickied threads at the top of this thread), I know he has probably the best write up with diagrams for both hose routing and wiring that I've seen; he used the 3.0 EVAP system with his 3.4 swap.

If you're in California, or other emissions controlled area, you will need to use the 3.4 EVAP system (but check your local laws).
