Thinking of buying back my old 85 Xtra cab

Ever since I got rid of my 1985 pickup about 5 years ago I have seriously regretted it. Truck is an 85 Xtra cab 22re and is very clean. It is the truck I drove in high school. It was recently spotted by one of my friends in lompoc, ca. Truck is not forsale, but I would like to track down the current owner and see if we can make a deal. When I got rid of the truck it was fairly stock minus a 3" lift and 33" tires, and it appears to still be the same way. I think the truck is worth around 5k what do you guys think?

I think your offer of $5k could be well received, or not, depending on many factors. The first being that it isn't for sale, and two, that if it looks well taken care of by it's current owner that the price you would be paying would be more of a "pay you to part with it" vs. what a reasonable reflection of condition and actual value, of someone who wanted to get rid of it. If you're serious about it, I would try to track down the owner and be prepared for it to go either way. I know the feeling of sellers remorse well, and feel for ya! All you can do is go for it, and if it's not meant to be maybe you'll find something better
Good luck!

I agree. I'm not going to be too optimistic about it. I'm hoping I catch the guy at a good time and he needs the extra cash, and if not then that's ok something else will come up.
