3.4 swap into 90 4runner

Hello, I have a 1990 4runner with a 3.0 V6 that has a dead cylinder. Its looking like I might do a 3.4 swap. I was told that it would bolt up to the original motor mounts and tranny.

Yes, the 3.4 will bolt into the frame (using the 3.0 motor mounts) and will bolt to the transmission (either A/T or M/T), but that's the only "easy part." Everything under the hood is on opposite sides of the engine bay (primarily air intake and the battery), the factory 3.4 exhaust runs down the passenger side while the 3.0's runs down the drivers side, and the entire engine control system is 100% different.

This isn't a job that can be done in a weekend that lots of people seem to think of it.

Anyone willing to help me. I think it would be better in the long run if I just put the 3.4 in instead of having all the issues with the 3.0

Yeah, I know I've heard of a couple of people doing it in a weekend, but that doesn't seem to be the norm for most people. The comment was more intended not to get his hopes up that it's just a "bolt-on" change, like adding a new air intake or something.

Technically, it took a year of part collecting and bartering and THEN a weekend swap. Also, I converted a 4 cyl to a V6 which is WAY more involved.....Also, also, I had an army of Toyota mechanics at my disposal and vodka. Lots of vodka.

So what parts would I need in order to make the swap? I'm really thinking this is gonna be better in the long run so I don't have to worry about dealing with the 3.0
