I have been able to source all the connectors needed for the 3.4 swap except for one. I have searched everywhere to find the part-numbers and have had no luck whatsoever. I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out the part number to the connector I have circled.

It is a male 26-pin white connector with the rotating locking tab.

The only info I have found is that it begins with a 90980-XXXXX.

Are the last five digits stamped on the plug? Often they are on Toyota electrical plugs.

 

Yes they are. I used that method to figure out the other plugs but unfortunately this plug is so damaged right at that spot the only numbers I could come up with was 71652 or 71662 and neither of those numbers worked. Thanks for the input.

 

Can you post up a pic looking directly at the pin arrangement? I have a connector guide that may help come up with the part number if I can see the pins and shape of the plug.

 

You probably know this already, but the female version looks like it's 90980-11611.

For whatever reason the connector part number list I downloaded for the male, non-water proof connectors only goes up to 19 pins.

I know that doesn't help you, but it may help someone else find your part number.

 

I seem to have the same list as SacRunner.

I could not find any 5 digit numbers on the female end of the connector.

I tried a few things to see if I could see the numbers on the male connector easier like using a magnifying glass and even rubbing a bit of dirt on the numbers to get them to contrast with the connector but still no luck they are too damaged to see.

Cf, those plugs in post 8 look the same to me. Are they the same plug taken at two different times i.e. before and after the tab was broken off?

Take a look at 90980-11632 on page D-101, 176.

It looks like your female plug upside down. Yes?

Then on page E-49, 363 we see 90980-11631 as the male to 90980-11632 female. The 4.8 pins are the outer 3 on each side and the 2.3II the remaining 16 pins.

So, 90980-11631 may just be it for the male side. Don't know for sure though.

 

WOW that looks like the right one!! Very impressive find. I'm going to try it out tomorrow and see if it works. I'll give an update on what comes up.

I should be able to get my 4runner all wrapped up and road worthy really soon and there will be one more Toyota on the road thanks to yotatech!

Here is where I'm at right now. I just got some more hoses to route and hook up, I got two more connectors to re-pin and replace the timing components, mount the ecu and figure out an intake. I also did a 5-speed swap and the transmission I received never came with an inspection plate so I still need to source one. If anyone has a spare one that will work between a 3.4 engine and a 1992 toyota truck manual transmission I'd be more than happy to purchase it from you.

 

Welcome. Did your local Toyota dealer have the male plug on hand?
Save that wiring connector link. It can be quite handy.

 

No they did not have the connector on hand but they were able to get it here fairly fast. And I definantely saved that PDF it is awesome. I never knew there was a manual like that available it could help out a lot in the future.
Re-pinning those plugs was much simpler than I thought it would have been. No special tools needed just a tiny screwdriver, a push pin, and some patience. I drew it all out on paper first and did one wire at a time to make sure nothing goes wrong.

No, 90980-11631 and 90980-11632 are a pair.

90980-11610 and 90980-11611 are a pair it appears.
