3.4 swap 2wd 4 runner engine to 4wd truck

I have a 93 4wd 5 speed with manual locking hub. I'm looking at a really clean 2000 donor engine but it's 2wd and auto. Is it going to be a pain in the butt to convert this engine to my truck? Also would it be easier for me to get a manual trans ecm??

I have done tons of reading and research. I appreciate your come back. I haven't seen anything on 2wd-4wd. I have a donor vehicle with a very nice clean running engine and I want to get it. But I didn't want to jump on it without finding out!

#1 the engine will bolt up just as easily as any other 3.4 swap, but none of them are "easy", they all need the exhaust crossover and are taller engines so you either do a body-lift or cut a hole in the hood and put a scoop on it.
#2 the engine wiring will be no more trouble than any other 3.4 swap. you need to start out with the right ECM (manual) and wiring harness to graft into your truck. not "easy"
#3 I don't know for sure if 2wd to 4X4 makes any difference

Thank you for replying. My truck already has a body lift and I can swap sides with the crossover pipe no problem. I will be getting all the wiring with this donor vehicle. From what I read, the 2000 m/t and a/t use the same plugs. I'll just need to swap some wiring around. Wiring isn't my strong suit, but I'm down for the challenge. I'm very mechanically inclined and have rebuilt 18 Wheeler engines and many other engines!!

Thank you, I've read your swap 101 about 5 times now. I'm getting everything with this engine including the exhaust behind the down stream o2 sensor. Wiring is my only concern. I'm not real big with wiring but I've been reading and trying to learn. I am considering buying the 2000 4runner manuals just so I can have the ewd.
