2000 auto into 93 auto

I'm going to post this up here maybe someone can help. I've got the chance to buy a whole 2000 4runner that's been rolled for cheap and I just blew the head gasket on my 93 auto today. If I wanted to keep the auto tranny that I have so I don't have to have an adapter for the transfer case, what ecu do I need? I've read that a t100 ecu will work with my transmission, but will it work with the 2000 engine and harness? Should I just buy the adapter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Might have to run both ECM's. Most don't keep the 3.0 auto trans is because it's weaker and the transfer case hooked to it.

I've got a request for a quote on a harness from ors. On their website, it says it can be done. I would rather keep the auto if I could just to keep it simple. I want something as bolt in as possible. I would rather not have to put in another transfer case, driveshaft, clutch, shifter, ect.

Why do you need a clutch with an auto?
If the donor was 4x4 it would make to simpler. I'm in the process of a 3.0 auto to a 3.4 auto swap.

What I meant was i don't want to do a 5 speed swap. Also the new transfer case is lh drop and mine is rh drop. Don't want to have to put in the new transmission with an adapter to a rh drop transfer case. If that makes sense. Maybe I'm missing something though, are you using the new transmission and transfer case?

I will be using a 3.4, stock 3.4 auto A340, and a adapter with a RF1A transfer case. There is a prerunner adapter that converts a 2wd auto to accept a RF1A I believe. Might be cheaper to find a 4wd transmission though.

The 4runner doner I'm getting is a 4x4, I'll have to look at getting a transfer case adapter and run an older style transfer case I guess. Just looking to be cheap and wondering what all options there are. Do you have a build thread?

Just heard back from ors they said they have a wiring harness that comes with the extra circuit that allows you to use the 93 old style auto. Cost is around $700 and that seems high, but That may be what I plan on doing. I figure after I find and buy a top shift t case, new front driveshaft, and pay for the adapter for the t case, I might as well just get the wiring harness and save some money and make the swap plug and play.

That's why I made my own harness. They wanted almost 700 dollars and I still would have to wire up some connections on my own.

user "ultimase" (find his build thread) used the stock auto tranny and it's still working great. Apparently there's one extra solenoid to wire up which is a piece of cake, according to him. Both trannys are fine if you aren't looking to make big HP or wheel real hard. The stock tranny and transfer case bolt right up. It's your "cheapest" option. There are a few builds floating around the internet where folks have used the stock a340h trans and case.

I am doing the same build as your.
I have a 1994 4runner with auto trans
Purchased a 1998 3.4 out of a 4runner with low miles and I wanted to keep the original trans and transfer setup.
The thing you will need is the ECU out of a T100 i want to say 95-99 4x4 with autotrans. Then as stated its just a additional hookup for the solenoid for the L4

Well, my cheap 4runner was sold before I could get it. Guess my swap waits. It will give me sine more time to research so that will be good I guess. I'm not in a real hurry, But I'm sure I will eventually.

can anyone confirm with certainty what year t100 ecu will work with the swap using 3.0 auto trans (340h). i have read about every write up. most guys use 1998 so i know that will work but will earlier 5vz auto 4x4 ecu from t100 work? 96 or 97. the part Number from 1998 is different from the rest

5vz ecu knows no difference. Just match functions up. 1995.5 up works the same.

98 up is the most desirable because they don't freak out when they see boost, should you ever boost it.

i am fairly confident that's not correct when using 3.0 auto trans.the speed sensors are not the same.
