Throttle Body Question

Throttle Body Question
Well I attempted to clean my TB the other day but ran into a problem...
I bought a can of TB cleaner and it says,
"With engine off, remove air-intake hose at manifold. Start engine and with engine running, spray cleaner in TB while working butterfly vavle back and forth manually...."
Problem is, when I disconnect the air-intake hose and try to start my engine, the engine won't start.
It cranks, but stalls as soon as it fires. Any ideas?

That's because the MAS is not sensing any air flow. Just hose out the TB and use a tooth brush to scrub it up. Run some seafoam through too for kicks and giggles.

I cleaned my 3.0 by removing the air intake hose and putting my hand over the intake. Allow air to pass between your fingers and stick the straw of the TB cleaner through. Give some throttle and spray. This allows the engine to run while spraying.

hehe... it works great. Just be sure if you run seafoam to have a new set of spark plugs. It turned my plugs plack
