When I did my OME, the driver's lower shock bolt was IMPOSSIBLE. Impact wrench no, ratchet w/ 1 foot cheater bar no. Finally, we got a 6" pipe/coat rack and stuck it on the ratchet... one good push and POP, it's off.

I don't even live in the rust belt!!

This is what I used to get my rusted nut off of the top of my shocks. Nut Cracker it splits the nut in half. Nice tool to use when you have room.

Grass Valley is still Sierra's and it snows all the time from what I remember up there. By the way, what are prices of homes these days in that area?

If you have the access, one of my favorite tricks for upper front shock bolts was to use a deep impact socket on a 2' extension. Just get the socket over the bolt and yarn back and forth a couple times until the bolt snaps off. Of course, that method only worked if you were going to replace the shock.

thats the truth I'm trying to put new bushings, bearings, and seals in my right front. still waiting for some of the seals won't be here till monday and I planned on wheeling this weekend. thats not going to happen. I hate the parts place so now I get to sit around the house and

Hey, rust is just poor-man's Lock-Tite, right? PB blaster has been my friend on many occasions. I think the best tool I ever bought was a 12 inch piece of pipe to use as a breaker bar.
