missfiring...?

Ok, so i'm driving allong the other day, and at lower rpms IE, stopped the truck would kinda stutter every now and then. Not constant at all, just an occasional hiccup. Ok, so i'm freaking out whats going on. This isn't normal, espcailly since its only at low low rpms. This is while the engine was hot. I had just done a pretty hard (on the engine) trip down from Asheville to Savannah (about 4.5 hrs at about 80, except for when this semi was going 90 and I could just draft him and not use much gas at all) ANYWAY... so I start the car the next day, and its twice as bad. not completely constant yet, but almost. Started it up yesterday evening and its pretty much not running on all cylendars, or thats what it feels like, ie the car is shakeing etc. What do you guys think? Should I get some new plugs/wires before I even take it in, or just say the hell with it, and take it to a mechanic? Oh, one thing I should mention... the engine bay is very dirty... I have been lazy b/c of moving and all and haven't gotten a chance to clean it (til today) just thought I would share that as that could be a culpret of bad wires right? I don't know. What do you think?

Thanks!
