Im a newbie. seeing as this is my first post, i might get yelled at. iI have a 02 tacoma. but anyway i was wondering how do you remove the mirror from its housing. both my driver side and passenger side isnt working. meaning it cant point down becuase the motors behind it popped out. it still works but it can't point down. i just want to know if there is a way to pop out the mirrors so i can get behind it

Even though mine is a '91, I bet they operate the same way.

The glass mounts to a backing plate which has the motor built into it.
On mine there is a screw on the very bottom which you will see in my pictures.

You can loosen the screw and take it out and gain access to put the plate back in its proper position.
