Got my belts changed today

Got around to changing out my belts today. Thanks Matt for the encouragement in my last post. It is really easy to do especially with the fan gone. Used a buddy to pry things tight while I tighned bolts when we put the new ones back on that helped alot. Not sure if you could do it alone. Engine sounds quieter now with the new ones.

I have to do mine. You notice any power increase from this?

With the 32's on the performance is identical to stock - until I turn on the A/C. I don't want to regear though - I've actually noticed that at 65-75 MPH the truck likes the new tires much better. Just driving in the city with the A/C on makes it a dog. Of course the altitude here (close to 4000 ft) and the 100+ heat probably is a factor too.

I bet you only get power increases if you install Type-R belts.

Do you boys not have a tensioner bolt for your pully. Really makes a difference!

Somehow my Alternator belt got really loose again. This time I used blue Locktite on the bolt. I used the long rod from the spare tire/bottle jack to kinda pry the Alt. over and get the tension this time. That worked great!

Did mine on Friday. Easy enough except the alternator belt. It is a pain to tighten. There is nowhere to pry on that thing so from underneath I pushed up on it with a prybar with one hand and tightened the bolt with my other. Took a couple of tries but I got it. The other two belts are a snap to change.
