coolant flush detergent

This is a general question.

Should I use the "coolant flush" detergent every time I do a flush if my cooling system really isn't dirty? I usually flush the coolant in my vehicles once every year or so, and when I drain the old coolant it always looks clean. I heard using that stuff too often ruins the cooling system.

Good question. I have used it in the past on my car, but never on my truck. I was kinda thinking like you, and figured if I replace my fluid often enough-every year, I could do without that. Its also more of a hassle.
