cleaning leather interior

What are the pros and cons of a leather interior with an infant and with people who will be swimming and boating in a lake?

Is leather easy to care for or hard? How do you clean it? What NOT to get on the leather as far as spills and such? Both my wife and I want a leather interior but someone was very surprised when we told them this due to us having an infant and because we boat at our local lake and sometimes get back in our 2nd gen wet.

Ok, since im really looking for a leather interior, how does one keep it clean and new? Someone MUST be doing something to their leather to keep in new.

I use leather cleaner for dirt spots, then I use conditioner and apply it with my hands. Believe it or not, this is the best way to treat leather.

I have some Maguire's leather conditioner that I use.

I had leather in my volvo for 12 years while the kids were growing up. Easiest interior to keep clean! I always had a few towels in the trunk to lay on the seats if they were in the sun or anyone had a wet bottom. I used the Lexol products and never had a problem. I did use a large bath towel under the car seat to catch the spills!

I've been using the Lexol™ cleaner and the conditioner for many years. Our local Mercedes dealer also uses it on their cars.

The cleaner is in the orange bottle/jug and the cond. is in the brown bottle/jug.
I haven't tried the spray version yet.
