My friend is swapping a 3vze from a 1994 into his 91 4 runner
and we are having problems with 2 plugs in the passenger side kick panel
that plugs the engine loom to the car , the ecu is the same that was in the 94
so no problems there

the problem is that one of the plugs did not fit together and the other fits but hasn't got the same pin placement

the plug that didn't fit together had all the same wiring colors except the engine loom had 4 extra wires that we found out that were the speed sensor wich we don't need

but the plug that fits together is the main problem and we haven't been able to find pinout for it

the engine cranks but isn't getting power to the distributor or the fuel pump
and i guess that's the plug that we havent been able to find out how to connect

Any ideas how we can connect this together?

I would suggest swapping the entire wiring harness, keeping the one from the 91, that plugs into the 91 computer. I haven't worked on a 91, but if it's similar to the 94, that means a little bit of work to get to the fuel injectors, and a new gasket for the intake manifold.

I think in 92 they went to a electric speed o , thats why the harness is different. I would do what Desert Mountains said and use the 91 harness.
