The 3 slow spun a rod bearing the otherday and I am not into salvaging or putting another 3vze. I am pretty content on swapping in a 1uz-fe, I have heard adapter plates to mate a 1uz to a r150f trans are reasonably cheap but I am not sure how much the rest of the swap will cost. I am not in a major hurry so I have time to source parts out. If anyone that has successfully completed a 1uz swap could lend a few pointers it would be much appreciated.

sure the 1uz is a sweet engine to swap in, but why not do the 5vz/3.4L swap instead, since it's such a common swap for those who had the 3slow, especially with the current available goods to take the thinking out of it. there are many documented 1uz swaps going into the 3rd gen pickup - search here, google, pirate, ttora, etc etc and start reading up.
